SOLAR INCENTIVES
FEDERAL TAX CREDIT
30% when you purchase and Install solar system on your home or business. This incentive is to offset your investment for going solar and you can claim all at once or spread it out over years.
EMPIRE ELECTRIC SOLAR REBATE
If you are a Empire customer you can take advantage of their $0.25 per watt rebate up to $12,500 on your purchase and installation of a solar system on your home. If your system is 10 kilowatts or more Empire will give you $5,000 cash to help you pay for your solar system.
BUSINESS INCENTIVES:
DEPRECIATION & TAX CREDITS
If you have a business and install solar to reduce your electric bill, you can take advantage of Depreciation on your Federal taxes. You can depreciate the total cost of your solar system as a business expense over 5 years. This is in addition to the 30% Federal Tax Credit.
RURAL ENERGY FOR AMERICA PROGRAM {REAP}
is through the US Department of Agriculture. They offer loan guarantees up to 25% of the total cost to go solar for agricultural producers in small, rural businesses. Check the USDA.com website for qualifications.
HERO PROGRAM
The Hero Program is an assessment on a property, allowing homeowners to finance their energy improvements through their property taxes. It offers fixed rates, flexible terms 5-25 years, and the interest on the payments may be tax deductible. Check the program out at www.heroprogram.com
